Tropical Green Smoothie

This recipe is the original Little Bird Unbakery green smoothie. It has always been a favourite of mine because it tastes amazing, but is a serious serving of raw greens at the same time.
Green smoothies are a fantastic way to get more green into your diet, which is alkalinising and cleansing as well as providing a heap of good fibre and nutrients. This recipe contains coconut water, which is a source of electrolytes to keep you hydrated throughout the day.
I buy pineapples when they’re overripe and cheap from the fruit and vege shop, bring them home and cut them into chunks and freeze them. I do the same with bananas, peel them, halve them and place them in ziplock bags in the freezer. That way making a smoothie is as simple as grabbing all the ingredients and placing them in the blender for 30 seconds. Too easy!
